Coastal Marine Resource Centre

The CMRC will potentially collaborate and advise CEMS on aspects of marine ecology, coastal processes and seabed mapping.

The primary objective of the CMRC is to make a significant contribution to the scientific understanding of coastal and marine environments and their management. The CMRC is based in the Lewis Glucksman Marine Facility, University College Cork, which is located at the Irish Naval Base, Haulbowline.

Research in the CMRC is undertaken through a multi-disciplinary approach, involving researchers with a range of specialist backgrounds e.g. biologists, computer scientists, hydrographers, geographers and engineers. Basic and applied research in the CMRC is organised according to four specialist areas of interest: Marine Geomatics, Coastal Processes and Seabed Mapping, Marine Ecology Group and Coastal Governance.
